Aminex completed discussions with TPDC in relation to extending the license term for the Mtwara License of the Ruvuma PSA, which was due to expire in December. The company was granted a one-year extension by TPDC.
In addition, Aminex and TPDC discussed the transfer of drilling obligations in the Lindi License, also covered by the Ruvuma PSC, into the Mtwara License, which includes the appraisal area for the Ntorya discovery. With the support of TPDC the transfer of the Lindi obligations is waiting for ministerial approval.
Once approval from the Ministry is received the company plans to drill the Ntorya-2 well to satisfy the appraisal drilling obligation; after which a 25-year development license will be applied for if the appraisal well is a success.
