At Least Nine Dead in Nigeria Gas Blast

  Tragedy struck Nigeria’s Cross River state when a gas tank exploded in a fuel complex on July 16. According to reports out of the country, at least nine people were killed in the blast and another 10 severely injured. The fuel complex belonged to Linc Oil and Gas.

The police chief, speaking at the scene, said the facility’s manager had not yet explained what led to the explosion. “For now, nine people are confirmed dead and many others who sustained different burns are currently receiving treatment” in a local hospital, he added.
