Benthic Wins Another Golfinho Contract from Anadarko

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

Benthic has been awarded a contract by a subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. in Mozambique. The contract is for a deepwater geotechnical investigation in the Golfinho Field. This project follows the initial geotechnical investigation Benthic executed at the Golfinho Field earlier this year.

The company’s Portable Remotely Operated Drill (PROD), operating from the Jaya Vigilant, will perform rotary rock coring and piston coring in water depths up to 2,500 meters.

In addition, an extensive program of cone penetrometer, ball penetrometer, seismic probe, and pore pressure dissipation tests are planned. Core transportation logistics and labratory testing will be coordinated by Benthic during the offshore operations.

The company will begin mobilization onto the Jaya Vigilant in January 2015.

“We are pleased that PROD’s proven superior performance in the challenging ultra-deepwater geologies in Mozambique in 2014 has given us the opportunity to deliver another successful project for Anadarko in 2015,” said Greg Fyffe, Benthic VP of operations.
