BP Commences Trial Operations on North Alexandria

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

BP has commenced trial operations at its North Alexandria concession offshore Egypt. According to the country’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, the fields are to be linked to the national grid and brought online this year.

El Molla’s comments came following President Abdel El Sisi’s meeting with the CEOs of BP, Rosneft, and ENI to discuss the progress on the companies’ projects in Egypt.

The meeting with the firms revolved around work progress on the massive Zohr natural gas field, which is predicted by ENI to come onstream before the end of the year.
