Eland’s Opuama-3 Production Ramping Up

Wednesday, February 22, 2017

Eland Oil & Gas’ Opuama-3 well in Nigeria’s OML 40 license has produced over 150,000 barrels of oil since the company’s last update on January 31, according to a corporate announcement.

The company also saw the first shuttle vessel arrive at the terminal and injected around 39,000 barrels of crude under the company’s alternative crude export program from the Opuama field, due to the shut in of the Forcados Terminal.

“We have designed and engineered a unique and dedicated alternative export route via shipping due to the prolonged shut-in at Forcados Terminal,” George Maxwell, CEO of Eland, said.

“This has involved significant capital and operational challenges and it is of enormous credit to our staff and all our partners that we are able to report that we have completed a full export cycle with one vessel,” he added.
