A new discovery was made in Algeria’s Berkine Basin. A statement from the state oil company Sonatrach said that it had made a gas discovery partnered with German firm E. ON Ruhrgas.

The discovery was made in the Rhourde Yakoub area of Berkine Basin on Block 406a. The well tested at a rate of 19,500 cubic meters of gas per hour and 4.7 cubic meters of condensate per hour, the statement said.
