Tenaris opened an office in Mozambique’s capital of Maputo to serve oil and gas customers in the country and throughout the eastern Africa region. The new office started operations on April 1.
Moving to Mozambique will allow the company to make operations easier and more efficient for customers throughout the region, providing technical and logistical solutions from a local base.
Andre Uchoa South Sub-Saharan Africa manager said, “Due to recent major discoveries in countries such as Mozambique, Tanzania and Uganda and the various opportunities still available, either by acquiring interests on existing production sharing agreements (PSAs) or still open permits, the entire region is becoming the focus of E&P companies, both independents and majors. This is a demonstration of Tenaris’s commitment to supporting the operations of its customers locally, hand in hand; working together to overcome local challenges.”
Luciano Codino business development manager for Sub-Saharan Africa added: “The office we are opening in Maputo will be the base from where we will design the rest of Tenaris’s architecture in the region.”
