Sudan and South Sudan could resume negotiations to bring an end to the hostilities between the two which have plagued them for a number of months. Khartoum said that it agreed to restart the talks on May 29 to settle unresolved disputes.
"The meeting will be on May 29th," El-Obeid Morawah, spokesman for the foreign ministry, told Reuters. Talks were broken off last month after border clashes between the two sides.
Former South African president and UN mediator Thabo Mbeki proposed the date after meeting with the presidents of both presidents.
