Heritage Oil Corp. updated its assets in Tanzania, including the Rukwa Block and the Kyela Block. The company was appointed operator of the Rukwa in November and the Kyela in January through new PSAs with the government.

Heritage says that both these blocks have certain geological similarities with the Albert Basin of Uganda, where it has had previous experience and significant commercial success. The company believes that these similarities will provide a material advantage in assessing this acreage.

The work program on Rukwa has commenced with the reprocessing of legacy 2D seismic data and the acquisition of further 2D seismic will start in August 2012. On the unexplored Kyela Block, the acquisition of a high resolution gravity survey has been completed following which a seismic program will be acquired.
