New World Oil and Gas plc has appointed Nigeria’s former president Olusegun Obasanjo as advisor. The company, focusing on investing and operating oil and gas assets, is believed to be searching for an ‘in’ into the West African country.

New World Oil and Gas has mainly been focused in Central America, particularly the Peten Basin on the border of Belize and Guatemala as well as in eastern Canada.
