Sonatrach, Algeria’s national oil firm, has resumed its operations in Libya. At a news conference for its H1 results, the company announced that it would be resuming operations during the month.

The state-run firm suspended its work in Libya’s Ghadames Basin due to last year's uprising.

"Now our presence is effective in this sister country. Our operations have resumed, in particular for drilling," Sonatrach chief executive Abdelhamid Zerguine told the news conference.
