African Petroleum Corp. is extending its foot print in Sierra Leone, partnering with Kosmos Energy. The two firms were awarded stakes in an offshore exploration permit covering Block SL-4A-10. The award, however, is subject to further negotiations.

African Petroleum submitted an application for Block SL-4A-10 in March, as part of the Sierra Leone 3rd Bid Round for offshore exploration permits.

African Petroleum already holds Block SL-03 offshore Sierra Leone with 100% interest and has completed a 3D seismic acquisition program covering 2,500 sq km. The seismic data is currently under evaluation in anticipation of future drilling.
