OPEC member Algeria saw its hydrocarbon exports fall by 2.29% during H1 2012, although the value of hydrocarbon exports increased by 4.05% to $37.5 billion, according to the country’s central bank.

A report released on its website failed to provide exact figures or reasons for the decline, although the government had previously projected a 2.5% increase in energy exports for the full year. Algeria usually produces around 1.2 million barrels per day of crude oil, with oil and gas accounting for 97% of its total exports.
