ENI Gets Go Ahead for Ghana’s OCTP Gas Development

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

ENI has been given the green light by the government of Ghana to move forward on its gas development on the Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) Block. Ghana and ENI should see flows from the gas development in 2017. There will also be the acquisition of another FPSO to be used for the offshore project.

“This project promises to deliver up to 170 Mmcf/d of gas over the next 20 years and put Ghana on its way to a future where one of the critical constraints to power generation (cheaper fuel) will be addressed,” the government said.

ENI is the operator of the OCTP and is partnered with Vitol and state-run oil firm GNPC.
