Gabon Oil Establishing Subsidiaries

State-run oil and gas company, Gabon Oil Company has decided to create three subsidiaries. The subsidiaries will aid the company in repositioning its downstream sector according to a company statement, most notably in the distribution of petroleum products, transit, maintenance of oil sites, engineering and construction.

The first subsidiary will deal with customs transit and transport of petroleum products. As for the second, it is now for the company to integrate the distribution sector with the key, retailing of petroleum products, as in the operator will develop its own distribution network.

In addition to the distribution and transportation of petroleum products, the company will also set up a branch dedicated to engineering and construction. This will ensure the construction and maintenance standards on the oil sites operated by the various oil companies operating in Gabon are properly maintained.

For Arnaud EngandjiAlandji, managing director of Gabon Oil Company, it is a matter of laying the groundwork. “The goal for us is to have a presence of the Gabonese State in the distribution of refined products, so that energy independence, which is the goal of the highest authorities, is reached,” he said.
