Ghana a Go for LNG

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Ghana’s state-run oil and gas firm, Ghana National Petroleum (GNPC), entered into a heads of terms with Quantum Power for the construction of LNG storage, regasification and delivery facilities at Tema.

Tema LNG will have a capacity to receive, store, re-gasify, and deliver about 3.4 million tons of LNG per year. In addition the $550 million project will include a FSRU moored offshore Tema and an associated sub-sea and onshore pipeline to deliver the LNG to GNPC customers.

The project will be implemented on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis for a 20-year term, and the ownership will be later transferred to GNPC.
