Ghana Courts Russian Investment

Friday, June 24, 2016

The Ghanaian government is courting Russian investment in the country’s oil and gas sector. At the Russia-Africa Economic Forum Amissah Arthur, Ghana’s Vice President, urged Russian investors to invest in oil in Africa, specifically Ghana.

Arthur said that his government would spare no effort in facilitating Russian investment in the sector.

“For us, it is important to create the right conditions to facilitate the arrival of Russian investments in the oil and gas, where Russia is clearly a leader in the world. Unfortunately, that leadership is not felt on the continent. It is a void that must be filled. The African market is quite lively and exciting,” Arthur said.
