Thursday, December 8, 2016

While voting did get underway Wednesday morning in most regions of Ghana, not all voters were able to cast their votes. According to Ghanaian authorities, some 15,712,499 registered voters were expected to vote for seven presidential candidates and 1,158 parliamentary candidates at 28,992 polling stations nationwide. The Ghanaian vote will result in one of seven candidates becoming president, including incumbent President John Mahama, three-time presidential candidate and lawyer Nana Akufo-Addo, former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, former minister and businessman Papa Kwesi Nduom, politician and lawyer Ivor Greenstreet, independent candidate and businessman Jacob Osei Yeboah, and medical doctor Dr. Edward Mahama,
