Guinea Prepares for Licensing Round

Monday, June 19, 2017

Guinea is preparing to launch its first oil and gas licensing round. The National Office of Petroleum (NAPO) plans to launch the licensing round in October, with results to be announced the following year.

TGS Nopec has documented modern high-quality 2D seismic data on about 14,000 km of the proposed blocks. No information on the number of blocks being put on offer was provided.

“This is a great moment for the Republic of Guinea. The recent successes in the northern MSGBC basin have increased industry interest in this region still under exploration, and this chain of success will inevitably have an impact on the south,” said NAPO CEO Diakaria Koulibaly.
