Region’s flagship oil and gas conference is ideal platform to explore opportunities in North Africa

ORAN, Algeria -23 January 2017: Oil and gas industry leaders from across the world are set to converge on Oran, Algeria, for the 7thNorth Africa Petroleum Exhibition & Conferences (NAPEC) to be held from 21-24 March, 2017. The region’s flagship oil and gas trade event will put the spotlight on the vast opportunities in one of the key oil and gas regions in the world.

Over 20000 oil and gas professionals, industry leaders, and decision makers both from the region as well as Europe, US, China and the rest of the world will be attending the 7th edition of NAPEC. The event will include multi-disciplinary conferences along with an exhibition that will feature more than 500 exhibitors representing 30 countries.

“This annual gathering of international industry stakeholders not only serves as a catalyst for shaping energy policy, but also as a powerhouse for generating business. By bringing thought leaders, innovators, and policy makers under one roof, NAPEC acts as an enabler of industry excellence,” said Mr. Djafar Yacini, managing director at NAPEC, the organizer of the event. “Members of the steering committee of this year’s edition of the conferences who represent major NOCs, IOCs and services companies operating in the region are confident that the event will provide exceptional networking, business development and knowledge sharing opportunities.”

The event will see a candid discussion on how North Africa’s energy companies can optimize operational efficiency, maximize asset value, and enhance performance to remain resilient and competitive in today’s fast-changing energy landscape.

North Africa’s proven oil reserves currently stand at almost 70 billion barrels while its gas reserves stand at 300 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, according the BP annual statistical review. The region’s key oil and gas producers, including Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, are continuously looking for the right foreign partners and technology to develop their reserves and increase the recovery factor at their fields.

The 2017 edition of NAPEC is an ideal platform to explore partnerships and meet with major National Oil Companies (NOCs) such as Algeria’s Sonatrach, Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), Egypt’s EGAS and Tunisia’s ETAP, apart from International Oil Companies (IOCs) such as Repsol, and major service companies. The event will also feature representatives of regional energy ministries and regulatory organisations such as Algeria’s ALNAFT.

The region’s most influential energy trade event will also discuss how developments in technology and innovation, and the evolving energy supply mix are leading international and national oil companies to rethink how they operate.

The trade exhibition at NAPEC will showcase products, services and technologies in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.

NAPEC will be held at the Le Meridien Oran Hotel and Convention Centre from 21-24 March 2017.
