Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Reports out of Egypt have the militant group, Sinai Province, claiming responsibility for the killing of an engineer from the US in August. Sinai Province named the man as William Henderson, an employee of Apache Corp. The militants included a photograph of his passport and two identity cards.

Henderson’s body was found in a car in the desert almost four months ago.

Apache spokeswoman Castlen Kennedy was quoted in a Reuters report as saying that the US government was still investigating the incident. “Out of respect for the family and the ongoing nature of the investigation, I cannot comment further,” she said in a statement.

Sinai Province changed its name after pledging loyalty this month to ISIS, the militant group was formerly known as Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis.
