Kosmos Energy has sent a delegation to Gabon to explore opportunities for investment in the country’s oil and gas sector. During the delegation’s visit they met with the Minister of Oil and Hydrocarbons, Pascal HouangniAmbouroue.
According to a source close to the ministry, after the meeting with Ambouroue the delegation met with officials in charge of the Gabonese oil and gas sector.
The addition of Gabonese assets would round out Kosmos’ portfolio in West Africa. The company already holds a substantial position in the Atlantic margin. Kosmos has producing assets in Ghana, has made massive discoveries on its holdings in Mauritania and Senegal, and has exploration permits with tremendous potential off Sao Tome, Morocco, and Western Sahara
