Kuwait to Increase Exports to Egypt

Thursday, November 6, 2014

Egypt will see its crude imports from Kuwait increase by about 35,000 bpd. Kuwait also said it is ready to supply the North African country with refined fuel also if needed. Kuwait is currently supplying about 65,000 bpd of crude to Egypt.

Kuwait was studying Egypt’s need for petroleum products, said Nasser Al Mudhaf, managing director for international marketing at state owned Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC). “We are ready to provide it with diesel,” Al Mudhaf told Reuters.

Egypt has been strapped for oil and refined products since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi. The country has been receiving funds through grants and loans from fellow Arab countries to Egypt.
