Pura Vida Energy, via its subsidiary, PVD Exploration Morocco, and a subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas, PXP Morocco B.V. (PXP) are partnered on Morocco’s Mazagan Permit. The two are currently negotiating the drilling of a second well on the permit.
PXP farmed into the Mazagan Permit in 2013, taking a 52% stake and operatorship of the joint operations. Under the agreement PXP is required to drill two wells, the first of which was drilled in 2015.
Pura Vida has written to PXP reserving its rights in relation to the second well obligation. The JV parties are in discussions as to how this matter may be progressed or resolved.
