New Tender Expected from EGPC

According to Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, the country’s state-run oil firm, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), plans to launch a new tender. The tender will offer up oil and gas blocks for auction prior to the end of 2017.

El Mollawas quoted in an Amwal Al Ghad article that there are plans regarding the signing of contracts with Apache, Shell, and Apex. The three were awarded a total of five concessions in the Western Desert.

The Minister also said it will sign a deal with Merlon after obtaining the parliament’s approval on the amendment of the company’s agreement for drilling in Western Desert.
