Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Oando Energy Resources (OER), an oil and gas producer in Nigeria, has called on the entire Nigerian government to develop legislative and regulatory framework for the use of renewable energy in the country. Speaking at an event in Lagos, Kyode Boladale, head of operations at OER said the use of renewable resources in Nigeria would help the country alleviate poverty while it would also promote technological and economic development in the West African nation.

According to Boladale, environmentally friendly technology would also preserve the over-exploitation of natural resources.

“It is necessary to develop a communication and awareness action plan to raise awareness on the benefits of using renewable energy and energy efficiency against other forms “Therefore, Governments have a duty to create the enabling environment through a government –private collaboration in developing infrastructures required to drive renewable energy,” he said.
