Schneider Electric Contracted for Egypt Petchem Complex

Schneider Electric has been contracted to supply and install all the electrical equipment of nine factories in Egypt’s phosphate fertilizer complex in Ain Sokhna on the Gulf of Suez. Schneider was not the only company to win contracts for the complex, according to reports contractors from China, Italy, and Spain are also tagged for work in Ain Sokhna.

The total cost of the project is estimated at EGP12billion. It is composed of nine different fertilizer factories.

The project also includes the construction of a maritime quay for exporting products, including surplus fertilizer production, through the Ain Sokhna port and a water desalination plant to provide water to all industrial activities.
