Senegal Sacks Energy Minister

Macky Sall, Senegal’s president, dismissed the country’s energy minister on May 2. Thierno Alassane Sall had held the post since 2015.

The office of the president offered no reasoning for the sacking in the statement issued, but did say that the energy portfolio would now be in the hands of Prime Minister Mohammed Boun Abdallah Dionne.
