Serinus Shuts in Tunisia Production

Wednesday, May 24, 2017

Tunisia has seen another operator shut in production due to unrest. Serinus Energy Inc. revealed in a statement said that it has temporarily shut-in production at the Sabria due to continued social unrest in the region of the asset.

Demonstrators have blocked roads leading to Tunisia’s oil fields in the south of the country, including Serinus’ Sabria field. The road blockages have prevented Serinus from shipping its oil production to market, which has the company filling its storage tanks at Sabria to capacity.

“It is the company’s hope that a solution to the social unrest can be achieved as soon as possible and the oil production in the region can resume to the benefit of the country of Tunisia and all its citizens,” the company said in a statement.
