Sonatrach and Maersk Sign MoU

In a statement Algerian state-run firm Sonatrach revealed that it had signed a MoU with Maersk Oil aimed at strengthening cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

The agreement was signed by the VP in charge of production and exploration at Sonatrach, Salah Mekmouche and Sonne Carsten Schmidt, VP of Maersk in charge of non-operating activities.

“This memorandum confirms the commitment of Sonatrach and Maersk Oil to strengthen their partnership and to establish an adequate framework for research and implementation of new opportunities between the two companies in new upstream projects,” Sonatrach said in the statement.
