Uganda Pipeline FEED Job Awarded

Gulf Interstate Engineering has been tagged for the contract award for the design of the pipeline that will take Ugandan crude to the Tanzanian coast. The pipeline will traverse 1,445 km from Uganda’s Lake Albert region to the Tanzania seaport of Tanga.

The statement by Uganda’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development showed the contract for the FEED going to the US firm of Gulf Interstate Engineering.

The FEED work on the project is expected to be complete in eight months and construction on the pipeline should start shortly after that. Uganda is anticipating oil production to begin in 2020.
