After a three month journey from the shipyards of Ulsan, South Korea the Usan FPSO arrived off the coast of Nigeria, French major Total reports. The FPSO is currently undergoing customs clearance and mooring on the Usan field will start after preliminary check-up procedures are concluded.
The arrival of the Usan FPSO offshore Nigeria is a major realization of the target date for first production in early 2012.
The FPSO is 320 meters long, 61 meters wide, and 150 meters high including the flare. The vessel has a storage capacity of two million barrels and a production capacity of 180,000 bpd.
The Usan field, discovered in 2002, is located on OPL 222 and is operated by Total.
