Woodside Signs up for More Moroccan Acreage

Woodside has added to its acreage in Morocco with the signing of a reconnaissance contract covering the Rabat Ultra Deep Offshore Block. The block is located in Moroccan deep waters off the coast of Rabat.

This is the second block Woodside has gained access to this year in Morocco. In July the company picked up a 25% stake in Rabat Deep Offshore Permits I-VI from Chariot Oil and Gas. Under the July agreement with Chariot, Woodside does have the option to gain an additional 25% and operatorship for a capped well carry obligation.
