World Bank Report Places Mozambican Gas Reserves Top List

The World Bank’s Global Economic Prospects report tags Mozambique with the largest natural gas deposits in sub-Saharan Africa.

“Natural gas fields in the deep waters of Mozambique have reserves higher than in Angola or Nigeria, the two largest oil producers in sub-Saharan Africa,” the report said.

The IMF recently said that Mozambique’s natural gas production could potentially boost Mozambique’s growth rate by 2% annually.
