Al-Zawiya Refinery Resumes Operations

Wednesday, June 30, 2021

The Al-Zawiya Refinery in Libya has resumed operation with its full production capacity for the two units and a daily refining capacity of more than 100,000 barrels per day. This return of production eases the burden on importing fuels, as well as shipments of crude oil that have been transferred to the Ubari station.

As a result, cash outlay to the General Electricity Company for fuel imports has been reduced by about $18.7 million for May.

The Mellitah Company was also supplied with quantities of crude oil for the purpose of generating electricity, at a value of $2.63 million, which were charged to the company to be settled later.
