Release–Baker Hughes Highlights Reservoir-Driven Solutions at SPE ATCE 2010
HOUSTON, TX – September 20, 2010 – Baker Hughes focuses on its expanding reservoir development services at the SPE Annual Technology Conference and Exhibition (SPE ATCE) 2010 in Florence, Italy, September 20 – 22.
The Baker Hughes Reservoir Development Services (RDS) team takes the guesswork out of well planning, drilling, and completions and production challenges. By leveraging its geomechanical expertise, such as managing wellbore stability, predicting pore pressure and determining in-situ stress, RDS helps operators minimize cost and optimize production throughout the life of their reservoirs.
Baker Hughes boasts one of the strongest and best-known reservoir technology and consulting teams in the oil industry. The company initially expanded its reservoir capabilities with the acquisition of international advisory firm Gaffney, Cline & Associates (GCA) and geomechanics software and training consultants GeoMechanics International in 2008. In 2009, Baker Hughes further grew its reservoir capabilities with the acquisition of two subsurface and wells consultancies, Helix RDS and Epic Consulting.
These four leading consultancies form the bedrock of the RDS business segment. The combination of these strong individual organizations into a world-class reservoir consultancy service positions Baker Hughes as a top-tier partner for oil companies throughout the asset life cycle, from the earliest phases of project development through enhanced oil recovery.
BJ Services, a Baker Hughes company, presents its Gallery of Solutions for field development and production enhancement challenges at the conference. Highlights include the company’s expertise in: environmental stewardship; tubular services; flow assurance; completion services; deepwater completions; zonal isolation; natural gas compression; production enhancement; and sand control.
