Angola’s Block 17 will see its fourth FPSO go into action when Total’s CLOV development starts production. The FPSO is due to come online in 2014.
The CLOV, launched in 2010, includes the development of the Cravo, Lirio, Orquidea, and Violeta fields. During the ceremony of launch of the external campaign marking 60 years of Total E & P Angola, director of Total Angola Jean-Michel Lavergne said that the CLOV development involves the use of technologies that have proved effective in Girassol, Dalia, and Pazflor platforms.
A total of 34 subsea wells will be tied back to the CLOV FPSO will have a processing capacity of 160,000 bpd of oil and a storage capacity of approximately 1.8 million barrels.
The CLOV FPSO was designed to have a unique processing and storage system, which allows it to produce two types of oil: one with a 32 to 35° API gravity from the Oligocene reservoirs (Cravo-Lirio) and the other, more viscous, with a 20 to 30° API gravity from the Miocene reservoirs (Orquidea-Violeta).
