Conoil Discovers Gas Deposits on OML 136

Conoil Producing Ltd. reported that it has discovered “huge” deposits of gas in the central part of OML 136. The discovery was made with the drilling of the Agge-3B T1 appraisal well. The well was appraising an undrilled compartment of the Agge field complex.

The well was located in a water depth of 140 meters and was drilled to a depth of 2,710 meters. The newly-discovered gas reserve has a gross thickness in excess of 160 meters and reports on the production test have the well flowing at about 24 Mmcf/d on a 16/64” choke.

Conoil Producing Ltd. is the operator of the joint venture in which Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Ltd. (TEPNL), a subsidiary of Total S.A, owns a 40% working interest in the license.
