Cripps Sears sparks an interesting debate on the future of nuclear power generation

Cripps Sears has worked alongside the infrastructure sector for many years, and regularly hosts roundtable forums. We invite senior level executives from a variety of disciplines across the utilities sector to discuss their views on the changing industry and its future.

Some prevalent themes that were discussed were:

• Nuclear power and the political motivation lacking to reinforce it.
• Affordability of nuclear power – is it down to the consumer to be responsible?
• Are there any realistic alternatives to nuclear?
• Utility companies and customer perceptions – consumers overlook the value of

water/gas/electric

• UK pension funds stepping in where banks no longer are.

The forums were very well attended by individuals and sparked some seriously interesting discussions, ranging from shale gas to social media affecting the utilities business.
