Drilling on Tap for Namibia in 2014

Wednesday, October 9, 2013

Namibia has another spud planned for next year as Repsol and its partners on PEL0010 (blocks 1910A, 1911, and 2011A) plan to drop the drillbit. Repsol, Tower Resources, and Arcadia Expro (Namibia) Ltd. will drill their first well on the acreage in early-2014.

A senior official at NAMCOR, Manfriedt Muundjua, said on the sidelines of an industry event in South Africa that Repsol could spud the Welwitschia-1 well as early as February or March 2014.

Chariot Oil and Gas also has plans to spud a new well next year on its Central Block. This well will be dependent on Chariot finding a partner for the acreage however. Block 2613 in Luderitz Bay could also see a well drilled by BP and Serica Energy in 2014.
