Friday, December 14, 2007

In Cameroon, Bowleven’s wholly owned subsidiary Euroil Ltd., has been awarded a new license onshore Cameroon. According to Bowleven, the government has awarded Euroil a production sharing contract for the Bomono Permit.

The Bomono Permit is made up of Blocks OLHP-1 and OLHP-2 and extends approximately 2,328 sq km into the Douala/Kribi Campo Basin.

The Bomono Permit, which contains numerous active oil seeps, has not been actively explored since the 1980’s. The last wells, which were drilled in the 1950s proved gas and condensate in the Permit.

Bowleven also reported that it has received formal confirmation from the government of Cameroon that the exploration period for the Etinde Permit has been extended for another 18 months. The company now has until September 2009 to complete its exploration program on the permit.
