Libya saw the first oil tanker loaded at the GAZA FSO Marine Terminal on the AlBouri Offshore Field. The GAZA FSO was put on site to replace the Sloug FSO, according to a statement on NOC’s website.
The Bouri field is operated by Mellitah Oil & Gas, ENI’s JV unit in Libya.
The FSO was constructed in Korea and arrived onsite at the Al Bouri field in May 2016 after which the offshore installation of pipes, marine cables, and fiber optic cables was completed. Production platforms were completed at the end of 2016 and the processed crude oil was pumped at the main installation at the end of January 2017.
