Hyperdynamics Presents Guinea Acreage to Calgary Crowd

Friday, May 23, 2008

Hyperdynamics Corp. is in the process of presenting the potential of its holdings in Guinea to the Canadian petroleum industry. According to the firm, James R. Spear, Executive Vice President of Exploration & Production, presented a technical white paper, and discussed the current 2D seismic acquisition and processing being conducted by GSI for Hyperdynamics.

During the presentation, Spear gave a brief discussion on the general tectonics and structural history, and geochemical studies of the Bove Basin play. The geological modeling and the geophysical methods being used to delineate both the structural and stratigraphical plays are part of the Transform Margin of West Africa where over 40 discoveries have been made over the last two years.

The company is looking for a farm-in partner and the meeting could pave the way for a Canadian firm to join the US independent in exploring the acreage in Guinea. According to Hyperdynamics, several companies from Calgary that have interests in the international arena, along with several making moves toward picking up African acreage, attended the meeting.

According to Hyperdynamics, the reception of the presentation was positive and it plans to host additional presentations in the UK and again in Calgary.
