Monday, October 10, 2016

Geofizyka Torun completed its acquisition of 115 sq km of seismic data on the Inhassaro field onshore Mozambique for South African firm Sasol. The acquisition was the first time 3D seismic has been shot onshore Mozambique.

Geofizyka Torun is now moving its equipment to Sasol’s Pande field where it will shoot an additional 42 sq km of 3D seismic data.

Sasol already produces natural gas from Mozambique’s Temane and Pande fields and its looking to add to that. The company launched a drilling campaign in H1 2016 aimed at developing Temane G8, Temane East, Inhassaro G6, and Inhassaro G10 reservoirs. The first two wells in the campaign were said to be encouraging and the company submitted a notice of discovery to the Mozambican government.
