JGC Wins Sonatrach Contract

Japan’s JGC won a contract worth roughly 120 billion yen, or $1.05 billion, revolving around natural gas production equipment for Algeria. The contract comes from Algerian state-run oil and gas firm Sonatrach.

The equipment is for the Hassi R’Mel gas field, which is scheduled for completion in 2020. Under the contract JGC will handle design, procurement, and construction for compressors and other equipment for increasing gas reservoir pressure.
