Ghana has begun training students in oil and gas related courses at the Takoradi Polytechnic at its newly established Jubilee Technical Training Centre (JTTC). The courses, which began in September, are to enable participants acquire skills for jobs in the oil and gas industry.
The six-month program was designed to fast track the developmental needs of the oil and gas industry. The six-month course would qualify students to work in upstream, downstream, onshore and offshore sections either in the petroleum or allied industries. Students are also being trained in health, safety, instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering as well.
The JTTC was established by the partners in the Jubilee oilfield in collaboration with the Polytechnic.
