Plans to produce between 2,000 and 4,000 bpd of crude in Kenya has been approved by the East African nation’s government. The production will come from a pilot scheme to be initiated by Tullow Oil and Africa Oil Corp.
The pilot production scheme will enable Kenya to reap early benefits from the resources discovered by the two firms.
According to a statement from the communication office of Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta, the country’s infrastructure will be upgraded to allow the crude to travel to the port of Mombasa via trucks.
