LANDMARK DELIVERS TRUE 3D SEISMIC PROCESSING CAPABILITIES AND PARALLEL COMPUTING OPTIMIZATION IN NEW SEISSPACE R5000™ RELEASE

–Upgraded Application Enables Large Volume Pre-stack Processing, Collaborative Interpretation Workflows–

HOUSTON – Landmark, a brand of Halliburton’s (NYSE: HAL) Drilling and Evaluation Division, has released SeisSpace™ R5000 software. The release addresses the needs of both operators and contractors by delivering the time and depth domain processing tools required to process and quality check large volumes of seismic data and provide superior seismic images to interpretation teams. The release also provides an open processing platform to support proprietary technology and specialty processing services.

"E&P companies make a sizable investment in acquiring, processing and interpreting seismic data," said Chris Usher, research and development director, Landmark Software and Services. "With the SeisSpace R5000 release, Landmark is providing tools to ensure that those investments deliver the most accurate subsurface information in the shortest amount of time."

SeisSpace R5000 provides users with an unmatched ability to efficiently manage seismic data on the latest multi-core CPUs and storage devices with the addition of more effective noise suppression from a suite of true 3D applications including a 3D FKK filter, spatial mix and FX-Y decon, as well as a new surface-related multiple elimination tool.

Specifically, SeisSpace R5000 makes valuable pre-stack seismic data easily available to the interpreter, encouraging collaborative interpretive processing workflows that allow seismic processors to become much more vital contributors to the asset team. The software supports visualization of 3D, 4D, and even 5D pre-stack volumes and provides a direct connection and publishing link to OpenWorks®, Landmark’s industry-leading project database, for these datasets, allowing interpreters to seamlessly access data and collaborate with processors. Seismic processors can now view their entire 3D seismic survey at once, and interactively work anywhere in the survey to test parameters, remove noise, and condition the data for interpretation.

SeisSpace is a component of Landmark’s synchronous R5000 release that includes upgrades to more than 70 products spanning all disciplines within the E&P lifecycle. All R5000 technologies offer E&P companies unprecedented levels of integration, the ability to customize workflows and an opportunity to achieve greater insight into their surface and subsurface assets, resulting in better-informed exploration and field development decisions.

As with all R5000 software releases, SeisSpace is available via Landmark’s Software Manager (LSM), an electronic interface that enables customers to download products electronically at their convenience. With the LSM, customers can also review release notes and an installation guide prior to downloading, and track their download history, including applications and corresponding versions, quickly and easily.

Repsol Continues Humanitarian Aid Begun at Dakar Rally

·         The material included wheelchairs, crutches and tricycles adapted to grant mobility to the severely disabled.

·         The “Return to life, Project in Africa” initiative allows Repsol to maintain a link with the African continent that had arisen as a result of the Dakar Rally.

·         The donation was made in cooperation with local entities, guaranteeing delivery to those most in need.

·         Repsol drivers and riders Laia Sanz, Jaime Alguersuari and Jordi Gene took part in the delivery.

·         Marc Coma and Nani Roma sent their support from Chile and thanked Repsol for “not forgetting Africa.”

The Repsol foundation in Erfoud and Hassi, Morocco, have donated wheelchairs, crutches and tricycles adapted for the severely disabled so that 200 people can regain mobility deprived them until now by a lack or resources.

For the Er Rachidia region, one of the poorest in Morocco, the Dakar Rally was always an eagerly awaited event because it brought benefits, which the population has ceased to receive due to its cancellation. The bond formed between Repsol and the population of Er Rachidia prompted the company to promote a project called “Return to life, Project in Africa” in cooperation with local entities.

The Repsol foundation worked with two Basic premises: Firstly, that the material was given directly to the people who need it, cutting out any intermediaries. Secondly, the material had to be new and of a high quality to ensure a long working life.

Participation and support from Repsol’s drivers and riders

With the Repsol Foundation at the delivery were three of Repsol’s drivers and riders, Laia Sanz, Trial world Champion; Jaime Alguersuari, Formula 3 Champion and Jordi Gene, World Touring Car Teams Champion.

From Chile, where the Rally Dakar is currently underway, Nani Roma and Marc Coma who know well the needs of Er Rachidia from training there were quick to join the foundation’s initiative. The riders have backed the campaign’s aim of not forgetting Africa.

QUOTES:

Javier Inclan, Repsol Foundation Director

“When the Dakar was called off a year ago, at Repsol we thought that the humanitarian initiatives should continue. Today we have achieved that in an area where the population has needs that should be addressed in the 21st century. With this we show that the solidary spirit that accompanied the Dakar Rally, in Africa is alive, and even if the race this year takes place in Argentina and Chile, at the Repsol foundation we will continue to support Africa.”

Nani Roma Mitsubishi Ralliart driver

“This initiative shows that there are people at Repsol who think that Africa should not be forgotten. I also continue to work in the continent through my Nani Roma foundation and all the help we can get is great. Many people believe that Repsol and other big companies are only there for the business, but there are people in this company that help others, and that’s great.”

Jordi Gene, World Touring Car Teams Champion

“It has been a very enriching experience. It’s important that people realize that we don’t only come to these places to compete and have a good time, but that there are basic needs here which we can help fulfil. That Repsol is promoting this type of initiative speaks well of its aim that we don’t forget Africa. It’s a good sign that they are doing this because they really want to help the people here. That Repsol does this when the rally isn’t even in Dakar speaks well of the company’s intentions.

Jaime Alguersuari, British Formula 3 Champion

“I’m very impressed and proud because I’d not been in Africa very much and this time I’m here to help people who really need a helping hand from the Repsol Foundation. Being here helps you appreciate what you have and to value your life. It’s another planet, another world that is so close to home and yet you can’t imagine how the people live. I hope to come back soon and do more.”

Marc Coma, Repsol KTM rider

“The Repsol foundation has had a great idea in showing that we don’t forget Africa. Especially in a place like Er Rachidia, which we know well from training there. Anything we can do to help is fantastic”.

Laia Sanz, Trial World Champion

“It has been great to come here, because after so many years of the Dakar, the people here had come to depend on the aid that came with the Rally. If it is difficult to cope with disability in Spain, here in Morocco it’s much harder, and this equipment can dramatically improve their quality of life.”
