Mining Firm to Explore for Oil in Rwanda

Tuesday, February 14, 2017

A mining firm in Rwanda is turning its sights on oil and gas exploration. Ngali Mining has been given the go ahead from the government to pursue petroleum exploration in Lake Kivu, through its local business unit Ngali Holdings.

More than one company has negotiated with Rwanda over rights to explore in the country and one company, Vanoil, actually kicked off a small exploration program in Lake Kivu.

It is unclear when actual exploration works by Ngali will start.
