The partners set on developing the Jubilee field offshore Ghana will not be stopping at one development. According to Anadarko, one of the partners, the two blocks where the Jubilee field is located have tremendous additional exploration opportunities.
According to Robert P. Daniels, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Exploration for Anadarko, only four wells have been drilled across the acreage and all were successful. “We’ve had success in all of them, three in the Jubilee complex; one was a step out at Odum, which was a different target.”
While the Odum was a young grade sand it had the same depositional style of the Jubilee. Daniels said during a conference call that another six to nine wells could be drilled. “We think we’ve got about between six and nine more wells… exploratory wells to drill on those two blocks for targets that could be, as small as the satellite like at Odum, two standalone prospects as big as the Jubilee complex. So we’re very excited about the opportunities we see on those two blocks and the whole margin there of West Africa.”
